Caring For Your Beads

Thank you for purchasing our handmade beaded jewelry. We hope you enjoy wearing it as much as we have enjoyed creating it.

Every piece is carefully woven using the best possible materials available. However, over time and how you wear your jewelry can have an effect on the quality and longevity of the beads. Normal wear and tear are expected. Colors may fade with time, exposure to direct sunlight, contact with skin (your body’s acidity levels can affect the coating of some beads) and abrasives (exposure to hard surfaces and chemicals like perfume).

To prolong the life of your beaded jewelry, we recommend the following:

  1. Remove your beaded jewelry before swimming or taking a bath.
  2. Do not wear in frosty weather as freezing temperatures also affect the beads.
  3. Do not immerse in water as it may damage the string.
  4. When wearing, avoid contact with perfume and other body products.
  5. After every wear, wipe with a soft, clean cloth.
  6. Do not use harmful chemicals (like alcohol) when cleaning your beads. Use mild soap and water and be careful not to dampen the string. Or just wipe with soft cloth. Dry naturally.
  7. Store in a dry, cool container and away from humidity. Store separately preferably in cloth pouch. Lay your jewelry flat so as not to deform the shape.
  8. The metal parts of your jewelry may tarnish with time. This is fine if if you like the look of vintage jewelry, however, you can use tooth powder or silver polish to remove rusts and keep the metal parts shiny.
  9. Do not let children play with beaded jewelry – beads are a choking hazard.
